A White Forest Reborn
In the heart of Tokyo, the oldest department store in Japan was given new light. Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi, a cultural treasure since 1914, reopened its doors as a “shining white forest” — a place where history and modernity, architecture and nature, meet in harmony.
Aluminum canopies, shaped like leaves and glowing with komorebi light, created an urban forest canopy under which visitors could wander.
Within this architecture of light, we wove our floral interventions: sculptural cascades of orchids, towering columns alive with blossoms, and ephemeral compositions that whispered of both tradition and renewal.
The grandeur of the building was reborn, its historic spirit preserved yet reimagined, its spaces infused with nature’s poetry. Here, shopping became more than commerce — it became a passage through a luminous forest, where culture, architecture, and flowers intertwined.
