Timeless Motion
In collaboration with Mercedes-Benz at the Zoute Grand Prix, Knokke, Belgium
A classic icon was reimagined as living art. For the 13th edition of the Zoute Grand Prix, Mercedes-Benz invited Daniel Ost to create a floral installation around the legendary 300 SL Gullwing.
The red coupé emerged as if embraced by a wave of flowers. A dialogue between metal and nature, engineering and ephemerality. Shades of crimson, pink, and green intertwined with the sculptural lines of the car, transforming it into a scene that felt both timeless and fleeting. Visitors were invited to see the Gullwing anew, framed not only as an object of design, but as part of a living composition.
Completing the installation, the three-pointed star of Mercedes-Benz appeared in a new guise: a bespoke artwork crafted from Icelandic moss. The enduring form of the emblem contrasted with the transient beauty of flowers, underscoring a balance between permanence and impermanence.
This collaboration between two houses — one of automotive excellence, the other of floral artistry — created a moment where car, art, and lifestyle converged in harmony.
