The Living Forum

Conceived as a generous and living civic landscape, the pre-design vision for the Grote Markt reimagined Belgium’s largest market square as a place of nature, encounter and everyday life. Expansive lawns, mature trees, seasonal planting and water were introduced to soften the monumental urban setting, while preserving the openness required for public gatherings and the city’s celebrated events.

As part of the multidisciplinary pre-design team, we contributed creative input to the landscape vision and botanical character of the proposal. Our involvement was limited to this initial conceptual phase and did not include responsibility for the final design or its execution.
