Created for the central square of an elegant Belgian coastal city, The Living Tide transforms the public realm through a monumental dialogue between art, nature and place.

Sweeping ribbons of weathered steel rise and fall across the square like an abstracted tidal movement. Living grasses, sculpted greenery, mature trees and delicate seasonal flowers soften the structure, gradually allowing nature to inhabit its architectural form. The warm patina of the steel evokes both the elemental force of the coastline and the enduring beauty of materials shaped by time.

Conceived as land art rather than conventional landscaping, the installation creates a distinctive civic landmark—an encounter with beauty that changes with the seasons, the light and the movement of the city around it.
