Geometry in Bloom

For the opening of the Museum of Islamic Art in Qatar, a sequence of botanical artworks was created in dialogue with the museum’s monumental architecture, geometric precision and reflective waters.

Sculptural forms woven from green natural materials rose across the courtyard like abstract columns, while architectural compositions of calla lilies and folded foliage guided guests through the interiors. Outside, waterways were transformed by thousands of petals, leading towards an evening setting defined by towering floral monoliths in rich shades of amber, crimson and gold.

Moving from restrained geometry to extraordinary abundance, the installations united nature, architecture and Islamic artistic heritage in a celebration of culture, craftsmanship and new beginnings.
