Monumental Square

For the Grand Square of Bruges, an expanse of historic stone was transformed into a remarkable living landscape.

Sculpted hills and flowing terraces of vivid green created an unexpected topography within the medieval city. Rhythmic lines of clipped trees followed the contours of the terrain, while winding pathways invited visitors to move through the installation and experience the square from entirely new perspectives.

Conceived in dialogue with the surrounding architecture and the central monument, the landscape brought softness, movement and a sense of discovery to one of Belgium’s most celebrated public spaces. Monumental in scale yet precise in execution, The Living Square became a temporary encounter between heritage, nature and botanical artistry.
