Luminara: A Floral Atmosphere at Sea
An exclusive celebration aboard The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection
When The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection invited us to shape the floral atmosphere for a private celebration aboard Luminara, we approached the project as a dialogue between architecture, nature, and the open sea. The yacht—an exceptional expression of contemporary maritime luxury—became the canvas for a multi-layered floral narrative.
A Guest List From the Worlds of Culture, Style, and Sport
The evening brought together an extraordinary constellation of guests—figures who shape global culture across entertainment, fashion, and sport.
Among those present were Kendall Jenner, Tom Brady, Sofía Vergara, Leonardo DiCaprio, Martha Stewart, and Ellie Goulding, alongside leaders, creatives, and philanthropists from around the world.
It was a gathering that required an atmosphere of quiet sophistication, subtle luxury, and artistic restraint.
A Floating Garden in Motion
Across the Beach House Deck, we created immersive botanical landscapes in dusty mauves, soft greens, and muted pastels.
Low horizon-line compositions traced the sea’s edge; tall sculptural arrangements added vertical tension against the expanse of sky and water.
As the light shifted from late afternoon to dusk, the florals transformed with it—absorbing, filtering, and reflecting the colours of the Mediterranean.
A Performance by Sting
As the sun set, Sting performed an intimate set on deck. Our installations framed the scene with quiet structure, ensuring that music, setting, and atmosphere blended seamlessly. This balance—emotion guided through structure—is the essence of our work.
A Sculptural Installation Indoors
Inside the yacht, a site-specific installation rose from the floor in sweeping waves of natural fibres interwoven with clouds of gypsophila.
Architectural in shape yet organic in spirit, the piece echoed the rhythm of the sea and the yacht’s own movement, transforming the interior into a serene, sculptural landscape.
Craftsmanship at Sea
Designing for a moving environment requires technique, discipline, and foresight.
Every stem and structural element was selected and engineered to withstand wind, temperature changes, and motion—ensuring the floral experience remained as effortless as it appeared.
A Night Where Everything Converged
The result was an evening where nature, architecture, music, and human presence all aligned.
On the open sea, under a Mediterranean sky, flowers became atmosphere—fleeting yet unforgettable.
