A Nation in Motion

Created for Belgian National Day, this sculptural installation transformed the historic courtyard of the Egmont Palace in Brussels into a bold expression of movement and national identity.

Sweeping ribbons of vivid red branches spiralled around golden bamboo, rising from a dark circular landscape of ornamental grasses. The colours of Belgium were translated into texture, rhythm and architectural form—evoking a flag caught in motion without representing it literally. Set against the classical stone façade of the palace, the work created a striking dialogue between heritage and contemporary botanical art.
